Computer Colleges in Nairobi: What You’ll Actually Pay in 2026, Course by Course

Ask five computer colleges in Nairobi what a course costs and you’ll get five answers that are hard to compare. One quotes per month, another per module, another “from”. Some include the exam, some don’t mention it. So we’re doing the simple thing: publishing every ICT fee at Excel Global College in one place, with the durations, what’s included, and the questions to ask before you pay anyone.

The number most people miss: cost per week

Divide each fee by its weeks and a pattern shows up. Longer courses cost less per week of training.

Course Fee per week (KSh, rounded)
BCS 4,500
ICDL Base 3,750
ACS 3,375
ICDL Standard 3,250
ICDL Advanced module 3,000
ICDL Professional module 3,000

Our own calculation from the fees above.

That doesn’t mean you should always pick the longest course. It means that if you were going to take BCS and then ACS anyway, you’d pay KSh 45,000 for 12 weeks. Going straight into ACS, if you’re ready, costs KSh 27,000 for 8 weeks and covers the same BCS topics. Know your level before you pay. The self-test in BCS or ACS: Which One Should You Pay For? takes five minutes.

What’s included, and what to ask about

This is where comparisons between colleges usually fall apart. Here is what our published fees say they include:

  • MOS: the fee covers 3 Microsoft certificate exams, 1 free retake for each exam, free study material, access to Microsoft Imagine Academy, training by Microsoft Certified Tutors, 5 practice exams per module, and a course completion certificate.
  • Computer packages: training, continuous project-based assessment and a college certificate.
  • ICDL: training at an authorised ICDL test centre, with access to ICDL Skillsbox and official learning resources.

Wherever you study, ask these before paying:

  • Is the exam or certification fee included, or extra?
  • What does a retake cost if I fail a module?
  • Are study materials included?
  • Is there a registration fee on top?
  • Can I pay in instalments, and is there a charge for that?

A course that looks KSh 5,000 cheaper can cost more once you add an exam fee and one retake.

Bundles that make sense

If one course won’t cover your goal, these combinations are worth pricing out. Totals use the published fees:

Goal Combination Total (KSh)
Beginner to certified ACS, then ICDL Base 49,500
Office worker wanting proof ICDL Standard + Financial Spreadsheets module 41,500
Admin or PA role MOS Associate (3 apps) 27,000
Excel-heavy job MOS Excel Associate only 10,000
Moving toward tech ICDL Standard + 1 Professional module (e.g. Cyber Security) 50,500

Modular pricing helps if money comes in monthly. You can finish one module, pay for the next, and keep going without a big lump sum.

How to pay

We accept M-Pesa, bank transfer and cash. Instalment plans are available, because we’d rather you enrol now and pay in parts than wait months to save the full amount. Ask admissions to write down your instalment dates so there are no surprises.

Why our fees aren’t the cheapest

You will find computer colleges in Nairobi charging less. We’re open about that. What the fee pays for here: an authorised ICDL test centre, a Certiport exam centre for Microsoft certification, small classes, and four daily time slots plus weekends. We’ve trained students for over 10 years, and in 2017 we became the first college in Kenya with seven perfect scores of 1000 in the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship.

If a cheaper course meets your needs, take it. Just compare like with like.
